Be Extraordinary! A Great Idea for a Great Event!
As
a regular guest at some of the most luxurious European
balls throughout the year, I know from experience that
choosing the right dress can be a challenging task. This
year I was on the hunt for a 19th century dress for a
period War and Peace Ball ( 16 February 2006, Dorchester
Ballroom). The theme for this annual Ball is all about the most refined
imperial traditions, graceful period designs that are visually stimulating,
exciting and fun. It is a unique opportunity to look sensational and to
feel extraordinary. So I dressed up as a Geisha, a special guest from Far
East . I was wearing a beautiful Uchikake Vintage kimono. (Until the Edo
period, it was worn by women of Samurai, or noble families on special occasions.)
A beautiful authentic obi was rapped around me and gave an extra support
for my back so I had boundless energy during the whole evening. This corset-like
feeling elongates your neck and makes all the movements more elegant. A
soft silk under-kimono felt so natural on my skin, that I could not stop
gliding my hands enjoying the smooth texture. I hid my hair under the wig
and attached some orchids on it. I even spray them with the orchid sense
to stimulate all the senses. which,
of course it did!
I could not believe the amount of attention I received. I was showered with compliments (especially from women). People were intrigued and fascinated! I had more photos taken than anyone else, even the Chairman. All the journalists and TV crews were bombarding me with questions. I felt like I was throwing my own Ball. I felt like the super star in a movie and just glowed throughout the evening. It was beyond belief!

Be Adventurous! Surprise your Loved One!
It
was one of the ordinary mid week evenings when I was
thinking of my husband and wanted to do something special
and rather adventurous. I wanted to bring an element
of surprise into our relationship and decided to do something
unexpected to put a smile on his face and just connect with him in a fun
and light hearted way. He was working long hours and coming home absolutely
exhausted. I ordered delicious Japanese food, lit candles all over the
room, chose soothing music, burnt a sandalwood essence and sent him a special
affectionate sms. I rented a Geisha kimono that evening and felt like a
real Geisha. Trying to remember what I had learnt in the School of Geisha,
I rehearsed the Tea Ceremony in my mind and practice some exercise, meditation
and womb breathing, so I could boost my sensuality and to make my feminine
energy to reach him and to blow his mind. It was amazing
that as soon as I went through this routine, his sms came: 'What are you
up to honey?' (It was freaky that later we talked about it and he mentioned
that just before he left the office he felt a pleasing sensation in his
chest and he could not stop thinking of me).
When I opened the door, he was speechless and then he joked whether he came to the right place. He called me 'my little Geisha' and burst out laughing. We both nearly died laughing. After a tasty dinner on the carpet I put all the skills of Geisha into practice.!! We had the most romantic evening. As a true Geisha, I took him into his dream world. I even danced for him, put his favorite song and read him some poetry. A week later he surprised me: We are going on holiday to Japan !
